Turkey and Russia Near an Agreement to Supply 36 Su-35 Fighter Jets

According to the Turkish newspaper “Daily Sabah” citing sources from Ankara, Turkey is about to reach an agreement with Moscow on the purchase of Su-35 fighter jets and the co-production of some Russian-made aircraft components.

Turkish and Russian officials are discussing the details of the sale of a total of 36 Su-35 fighter jets to Turkey, two months after President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to the MAKS 2019 international aviation fair in Zhukovsky.

The sources added that officials are also discussing Turkey’s possible involvement in the production of some components of fighter jets, including its precision weapons and ammunition.
